Privacy Policy
The SBDC Business Technology Boot Camp 2008 is delivered by the SBDC Technology Advisory Program (SBDCTAP), a program of the Northern California SBDC Network. The Northern California Network of Small Business Development Centers is committed to helping individuals start, manage and grow their businesses.
SBDCTAP, as a technology advocate, advisor and trainer, is fully committed to protecting your right to privacy. We collect information from Boot Camp registrants in order to:
-ascertain who has registered and paid, and is therefore entitled to attend a Boot Camp event, and
-to obtain aggregate demographic information on participants to ensure that the audience participation profile is as intended for the event, i.e. small businesses as defined by the US Small Business Administration.
This is done to provide the best possible participant experience at the Boot Camps and to enable us to customize the program to provide the best experience, if required.
We will always ask you when we need you to provide personally-identifiable information. We will never sell, share, or rent individual information collected on this site to third parties, except as defined under “Use of your Personal Information”.
What We Collect
When you register for a Boot Camp event, you will be asked to complete a registration form. The information we collect may include, but is not limited to: your name; organization name; mailing address; phone number; email address; and information about your business and IT environment. We use this information for the reasons outlined in the “Privacy Policy” section above, but we may also use the information to contact you regarding future offerings and events from the Northern California SBDC Network that may be of interest to you.
Use of Your Personal Information
We may collect information about your visit, such as the date and time you accessed our Site and your movement between areas of our Site. This information is aggregated and analyzed to help improve our content, improve your experience and optimize our Site performance. For research purposes, we may aggregate personal and demographic information from registrations. Your personally-identifiable information will never be shared with third parties without your consent.
When you register for a Boot Camp, we will send an email confirming your registration. We may send further email communications to update you on related products and services that may be of interest to you. These subsequent email communications will always include an unsubscribe link allowing you to stop the delivery of that type of communication.
Sharing of Data and Information
Boot Camp registrants may sometimes be invited to take part in our research studies in which they provide information about their business and IT preferences. Participation is entirely voluntary and incentives vary. The demographic and trend information we collect is analyzed in aggregate to help drive our small business advocacy, advisory and training efforts efforts. Data/information used for research purposes is never linked to any information that can identify any individual company or person.
We may share registrant data with Boot Camp event sponsors in order that they are able to analyze the profile of Boot Camp attendees. You will be given the opportunity at the Boot Camp event to opt out of having personally identifiable information shared with event sponsors. However, you should be aware that even if you do so, anonymous aggregate information will still be provided for research and analysis. If you are not prepared to have this information shared, you should not register to attend a Boot Camp event. If you register for an event we will deem that you have given us to permission to, at the least, share anonymous aggregate information with event sponsors.
If you register for a Boot Camp and do not attend the event, you may opt out of having personally identifiable information shared by contacting us at the address below.
